With the Humanitarian Assistance Programs sponsorship, coordinated by USAID/MLO, EDS-Sustenergy is implementing projects of water supply and desalination for semiarid communities, like Jacu community situated in Poco das Trincheiras county, Alagoas State.
The Jacu community is made of 58 families remaining from the Quilombos and didn have any source of drinkable water. An existing well has been recovered, wich water has a high salinity rate, its been installed a pump for carrying this water to the desalinator, a shelter for the desalinator, a fountain, a 25.000 liter cistern for raw water, a 25.000 liter cistern for treated water and a coated tank to collect the desalinators reject.
