Sponsored by the Humanitarian Assistance Program, coordinated by USAID/MLO, cisterns and small water supply systems were implemented in Alagoas semiarid communities. Some local springs were used in advantage of the channeling of water in the schools and surrounding communities.
For the cisterns construction it was used the tecnology of structured mortar, wich provides greater tightness and durability at a reasonable cost.
